Meet our Managing Director

Our managing director is involved at each step of the way to ensure quality on every project.

David Orfila, Director of Orfila Architects, has over 30 years of diversified experience in the architectural profession. He graduated at East London University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture followed by a post graduate Diploma in Architecture at Oxford Brookes University. Mr. Orfila is responsible for the overall management of Orfila Architects, as well as building relationships with the firm’s current and prospective clients and continuing with the company’s growth.

Javier is an architect from the University of Seville, Spain having graduated in 2013. He has experience in architectural practice and the building industry in the UK. He is well-organised and an effective problem solver with a meticulous approach to detail design work. Since joining Orfila Architects in 2015, Javier has worked on a variety of projects working on schemes ranging from Concept Design stage to Construction and Handover. Outside of work, Javier likes to spend his time keeping fit, reading and spending time with his family and friends.



Ana studied at the University of Seville, Spain having gained a Masters in Urban Planning, Planning and Urban Design and specialising in Building Energy Modelling. Ana has well over 20 years of professional experience having worked on residential and educational projects. Ana joined Orfila Architects in 2018, and since then has been involved in various construction development projects, recently completing the Notre dame Primary school. In her spare time Ana enjoys going hiking through the countryside and travelling.



Rafa graduated in Civil Engineering at the Polytechnic Engineering University of Cadiz, Spain in 2001. In his extensive professional career Rafa has worked in several construction and quality control companies carrying out countless building and civil engineering projects. He joined Orfila Architects in 2014 and has been applying his knowledge and experience in several projects from initial design to handover. He is well versed with all technical products and current building regulations. In his free time Rafa enjoys playing table tennis and swimming.



Jesse completed his BA (Hons) degree and a Masters in Architecture (MArch) with distinction at the Liverpool John Moores University. He joined Orfila Architects in 2018 on a year long placement as part of his professional practice development. He is now back in full-time as a Part 2 Architectural Assistant and developing his experience towards his RIBA Part 3 registration.  Jesse has worked on various projects from concept stage to technical design ranging from residential to commercial. Jesse is a passionate designer with a particular skill and interest in 3D visualisation. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, producing art, and keeping fit and healthy.



Nigel graduated from the CASS School of Architecture, London, with a First-Class BA (Hons) degree in Architecture with his 3rd Year Portfolio nominated for the RIBA Presidents Bronze Medal award. He also completed his Masters in Architecture (M.Arch) degree with Distinction. Nigel joined Orfila Architects in 2018 for his year out professional practice development and has re-joined the practice to continue his development for his RIBA Part 3 registration. He has gained considerable knowledge with various projects since his commencement, ranging in scale and working at different design-stages. His skills range from high standard 2D and 3D architectural presentations and visualizations, model-making, 3D printing and photogrammetry.

In his free time, Nigel enjoys going on runs to keep fit, and socializing with friends and family. He is an avid artist whom practices portraiture, and also enjoys writing.
